Iona Community: Musician

Deadline: 27 Nov 2021

Description

Musician

We are looking for a skilled musician and music facilitator to join our resident staff team on Iona. Someone who can play the piano and ideally another instrument, who is experienced in organising groups for music-making, particularly singing and who brings a wide knowledge of world music and church music, including that of the Wild Goose Resource Group.

The Musician post is central to the worship and spiritual life of the Iona Community on Iona. Music connects people and brings worship to life. This is a fabulous opportunity for someone who is innovative, inventive and determined to find ways of harnessing the power of music to move and communicate.

Staffing at Iona Abbey is provided by a resident team who live and work together sharing in the common life assisted by a wider team of volunteers. Work and worship are valued equally at our centres. A resident allowance is paid and all accommodation and meals are provided. Living and working on Iona is ‘life-changing’. We hope to welcome your application soon.
