Repertoire Riversong, by Chris Hutchings
Description
Join us for our Community Choir end-of-term sharing! These two performances (one at 7pm and one at 8.30pm) will showcase choral music, sung by the participants and conducted by Katy Lavinia Cooper.
Our Glasgow-based Community Choir meets weekly to sing a mix of opera, classical, popular, folk and world music, welcoming individuals from all walks of life and levels of experience.
To tie in with the Glasgow 850 celebrations, we’ll be exploring repertoire connected to the River Clyde and Glasgow. Our end of term performance will revolve around this theme and draw on participants own stories and connections to Glasgow in the past.
We are pleased to offer £5 tickets for this event, but welcome and appreciate any donations to Scottish Opera. If you wish to donate, you can do so at checkout.
Repertoire includes Riversong by Chris Hutchings (words by Rob MacFarlane) and arrangements by Katy Lavinia Cooper, as well as opera excerpts in new choral arrangements (including "Song to the Moon" from Rusalka) and further river-themed repertoire including the jazz classic "Cry Me A River" arranged by Mac Huff.
