- 30 May 2021, 4 p.m., Zoom, (on-line), Booking link
Description
This workshop will be an extension of the OVER/AT online singing resources, where participants will be able to develop their own miniature pieces based on techniques discussed as a group. The aim of this workshop is to encourage a knowledge of accessible vocal exercises, and begin thinking about how we can use our voices creatively.
We’ll warm up our voices, then have a look at vocal fry, sustained notes, and improvisation. We’ll take some time to ourselves, or in pairs, to create some loops to sing over the track FEELS by Matthew Arthur Williams. Folks can then either record ideas on their phones/other devices to play back to the group, or can demonstrate their ideas live.
This workshop is for folks who have faced barriers to singing due to gender. This could be in relation to trans, non-binary, or otherwise gender-diverse identity. The workshop has been developed by trans artists, and will be led by trans artists.
