1st September

2pm - Welcome and Keynote by Susanna Eastburn

2.45pm - Mapping report by Matthew Whiteside. Presenting NMS' research on venues and promoters accross Scotland working in New Music

3.45pm - Emerging Composer Research presented by Jill Morgan. Presenting NMS' / Red Note Ensemble's joint research 'Career challenges: an exploration into potential barriers faced by Scottish emerging composers'. This will include a panel discussion chaired by John Harris. 

5pm - Ends

Music will be included throughout the day from Scottish composers performed by Alex South and Stephanie Lamprea. 

 

2nd September

Intersectional Struggles in Contemporary Composers' Experience

10am to 2pm

NMS is pleased to offer a panel and breakout sessions in led by Ankna Arockiam and Jaime Díaz. We will cover issues that prevent many composers from participating in the new music scene here in Scotland and begin to work towards possible solutions.
