New Music Scotland - Part time Project Manager

New Music Scotland is seeking to appoint a Project Manager to work on enabling, supporting and connecting Scotland’s new music sector.
The successful candidate will have a background in the arts sector, preferably in new music, with proven administrative, project-management and organisational skills. They will be a strong communicator, with experience in networking, and will be a self-motivated, flexible and creative individual, capable of working on their own initiative but in close coordination with the Board and NMS members.
The role
The Project Manager role is a 3 month fixed term post at 1.5 days per week, and will have specific projects to work on for the duration. There is a possibility that a successful candidate may be asked to stay on in a permanent role with increased hours, funding permitting.
The role of the Project Manager would primarily support the Board of Trustees on the following activities:
• Overseeing, monitoring and supporting our YMI research project and working with external researcher
• Overseeing, monitoring and supporting our Mapping Project and working with external researcher
• Day-to-day enquiries and administrative duties, including finance and budgetary tasks
• Organising the Scottish Awards for New Music (SAfNM)in partnership with the NMS Awards Working Group and Board
• Organising the NMS Conference in conjunction with NMS’s Scottish Awards for New Music
• Support Working Group meetings, and follow up on meeting actions
• Provide information and attend NMS Board meetings, and work alongside our Board
to prepare reports, and minute taking where required
• Writing reports to our funders
Fees
The rate of pay is at £35k per year pro rata on a freelance basis at 1.5 days per week for 3 months. Total fee is £2,625 divided into 3 monthly instalments of £875 plus expenses for travel expenses and accommodation where required. This is a freelance post and the candidate will be responsible for their own tax and NI.
This is a 3 month fixed term contract, however there may be a possibility of extension/further opportunity, dependent on internal/external developments and funding.
