CATEGORY 1: COMMISSIONS

This category includes two different modalities:

Modality 1A

Instrumental works with or without electronics, without limitations of duration and for any
instrumental ensemble. A selection will be made from the works submitted and new works will be
commissioned to be premiered within Festival Mixtur. The instrumentation of the commissioned
works shall be agreed with the composers once the selection process is finished.
These commissioned works should have an approximate length of 7 to 10 minutes.

Modality 1B

Electroacoustic or audiovisual works without limitations of duration. A selection will be made
from the works submitted and new works will be commissioned.
This new works should have an approximate length of 7 to 10 minutes.

CATEGORY 2: SOLOISTS, INSTRUMENTAL AND INTERDISCIPLINARY ENSEMBLES AND
SOUND ARTISTS

The artists who want to participate should submit their current repertoire or the works they would
like to prepare for the festival. Also interdisciplinary proposals, or based on improvisation proposals
will be accepted. 3 recent (audio or video) recordings must be submitted and a document stating
repertoire worked on during the last years, or performances undertaken in the case of
improvisation. Category 2 submitted proposals will always involve live performers (either musicians
or artists from other disciplines).

This category includes four different modalities:

Modality 2A

Soloists or groups specialized in contemporary music.

Modality 2B

Soloists or groups specialized in free improvisation.

Modality 2C

Interdisciplinary Artists that work on sound interaction with other art
forms (dance, video, performance, etc.)

Modality 2D

Sound Installations.
