The Right Track Open Call

Deadline: 23 May 2023

Description

Are you aged between 16-25 and want to learn about electronic music production? Then this is the right track for you!

The Right Track is looking for 10 young people to take part in a six week programme where you’ll learn the fundamentals of electronic music production, develop additional skills such as DJing, and gain a more in-depth knowledge of the music industry in Scotland and beyond.

The programme will run for six weeks from 29 June until 3 August. Sessions will take place every Thursday from 10:00 until 17:00, and will be held at subSine | Academy of Music in Glasgow.

Included in the programme:
• One six-hour session per week
• Tuition from Scotland’s only Ableton-certified trainer
• Guest tutors
• Your own Ableton Live Intro license and midi keyboard to keep
• Travel and accommodation to attend sessions if you don’t live in Glasgow. We can also assist with travel costs for those who live locally

Who can apply:
• Young people between the ages of 16-25 (or up to 30 if you identify as disabled, care experienced and/or a young carer)
• This programme is aimed at beginners, so no prior music production experience is necessary
• You can be based in any part of Scotland but willing to travel to Glasgow each week for the duration of the programme

We particularly welcome and encourage applications from young people who face increased barriers to accessing electronic music and are currently underrepresented in the music industry due to their:
• Ethnicity
• Gender identity
• Sexual orientation
• Financial resources
• Education
• Social class
• Disability
• Neurodiversity
• Long term health condition/s
• Care experienced
