Applications open for In Motion 2026: Sound and Music’s flagship artist development programme.
Composers and music creators across the UK are invited to apply for In Motion 2026, Sound and Music’s 18-month artist development programme offering bespoke mentoring, professional coaching and funding to support the next chapter of their creative journey.
Over 18 months (April 2026–October 2027), In Motion provides the space, support and resources for composers to deepen their practice, build resilience and bring bold new public-facing work to life — whether that’s an EP, installation, performance or another form of creative expression.
Participants receive a substantial package of support, including:
• A £1,800 artist bursary
• A production grant of up to £4,000 to support their project or artistic development
• Regular 1:1 sessions with a dedicated Creative Programme Leader
• Sessions with an accredited coach
• An allowance for mentoring sessions
• Group workshops, sharing sessions and Networking Days with their cohort
