Job Opportunity: General Manager (part-time, freelance)

Description

New Music Scotland is seeking to engage a part-time General Manager on a fixed-
term, freelance contract Manager to support the organisation to enable, support and
connect Scotland’s new music sector.

The role of the General Manager will be to co-ordinate and support a growing
network of new music creators, practitioners, and producers in Scotland, engaging
with our membership and other stakeholders within the sector in order to help drive
the development of a thriving and innovative scene, and organise activities to
support this. They will be responsible for all aspects of the organisation’s day-to-day
running and long-term management.

The successful candidate will have an interest in contemporary classical and
experimental music. They will be a self-motivated, flexible and creative individual,
capable of working on their own initiative as well as part of a team. Candidates
should be well organised with excellent written/verbal communication skills and at
ease with IT. They should be familiar with financial management tasks, and have
experience of budgeting and fundraising.

Timeframe: 14 months – fixed term, allowing for final reporting. Starting date: early
September. (There may be a possibility of extension/further opportunity, dependent
on internal/external developments).
Fee: £18,000 (based on an expected equivalent of 1.5 days a week, but annualized
over 14 months). Plus expenses for travel and accommodation if required.
