New Music Scotland – Digital Officer
Fixed Term Contract – 13 months

New Music Scotland is seeking to engage a freelance Digital officer to support the organisation to enable, support and connect Scotland’s new music sector.

The Digital Officer will be responsible for the organisation’s regular communications, including monthly email bulletin, social media, website updates and supporting NMS events (as capacity allows). The digital officer will report to the general manager.

The successful candidate will have a knowledge of and connection to the new music sector. They will be responsible for maintaining and developing NMS’s digital presence, ensuring clear and consistent communication with members and the wider sector. The role will suit someone with a good understanding of Scotland’s new music scene, who is comfortable using digital tools to connect people and share opportunities. It would be well suited to a recent graduate or a practising musician, composer or creative working in the sector who is keen to use and further develop their skills in communications and digital engagement.

Details:

Timeframe: 13 months – fixed term. Starting date: Mid November 2025 – Mid December 2026.

There may be a possibility of extension/further opportunity, dependent on internal/external developments.

Fee: £3,024, based on £13.50 per hour, 4 hours per week for 56 weeks. This role requires flexible working with some work concentrated during busier periods that may require more than 4 hours of work within a given week, subject to your availability. In these instances, time should be taken off in lieu in subsequent weeks so that an average of 4 hours per week is maintained.
