What are we looking for?
A simple, but stunning award for the winners. Something that captures the essence of what the awards are and is a wonderful piece of art for the winners to keep. The work can be 2D or 3D - whatever you feel is achievable within the budget, facility and timescale limitations. There are 12 awards and we recommend a single design for all of the awards. The design could be fabricated in different colours for each award, or the individual awards shown using text on the award.

This year’s Awards event will take place from the RSNO Centre, Glasgow at 8 pm on Wednesday 7th July 2021.

Facilities
We require you to be able to make the work in your own studio or have access to a studio for fabrication. If there are costs for this, they must be included within the budget.

We would welcome joint applications from a graduate and their former college or uni-versity, particularly if the college or university could support the fabrication of the awards.

Support
You will have regular contact with Karen Dufour, the SAfNM producer.

You and a guest will also be invited to the live streamed event.

Budget
£800 – design fee
£1000 – materials and expenses for creating and fabricating the awards

Experience
This is an opportunity for emerging artists and designers. You should have graduated from a Scottish university or college within the last three years or working profession-ally in visual arts for no more than 5 years .

This is a development opportunity and we will be interested to hear why you think this opportunity will help you in your practice. The chosen design will be selected based on the how well the design idea fits the brief, the ability to bring it in under budget and the experience of the artist or designer to show they can manage the project on time and to budget.
